LOCKPORT – A man who helped a co-defendant run up $13,000 in purchases with a stolen credit card had his probation term extended Thursday so he can continue working on his share of the restitution.
Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon gave Leonard James, 23, of Niagara Falls, a 30-day suspended sentence for violating probation by failing to repay $6,450, his half of the restitution tab. James was placed on five years’ probation four years ago, but Sheldon extended the term by a year and ordered James to pay at least $60 a month.
The spending spree occurred in September and October 2010. The card was stolen from a client of a home care aide with whom James was acquainted.
