Woman who cleaned Clarence homes accused of thefts

A woman who cleaned homes in the Town of Clarence is accused of stealing property, ranging from jewelry to personal checks, during a period of months, State Police reported.

Kimberly Leonard, 43, of Gasport, was charged Monday with felony counts of grand larceny and forgery of an official document, as well as misdemeanor counts of petit larceny.

The arrest followed an investigation of several claims by residents who had employed Leonard, police said. It was determined that she took jewelry, clothing, personal checks and gift cards, among other things, while working for them.

Following arraignment in Clarence Town Court, Leonard was sent to the Erie County Holding Center. A felony hearing is scheduled for Thursday in Town Court.
