LOCKPORT – A City of Lockport man admitted Wednesday in Niagara County Court that he stole property from a nearby home during a 3 1/2-month period last year.
Richard P. Vance, 46, of Spalding Street, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree burglary after County Judge Sara Sheldon agreed to Assistant Public Defender Michele G. Bergevin’s suggestion that his prison sentence be limited to four years, with up to three years’ post-release supervision. Sheldon will pass sentence May 15.
Vance admitted stealing $11,226 worth of property from a woman’s home on Spalding Street from Feb. 28 to June 15, 2014. The woman was away from home for an extended period and discovered the thefts on her return.
