Letter: We ought to be prepared for infrastructure failure

We ought to be prepared for infrastructure failure

The News editorial, “Alarms are going off,” regarding the area’s aging water infrastructure, encourages me to share a little something that my husband and I make a habit of doing. Every gallon milk jug that gets emptied in our household is rinsed well and then filled with water. We have a space in our basement where we line them up. They pretty much look like a sentinel of soldiers waiting for an emergency. Did you know that it takes five gallons of water to flush a toilet? Be prepared, folks!
