JAMESTOWN – Three men and a woman were arrested and bundles of alleged heroin, other drugs and cash were seized in simultaneous noontime raids Tuesday at two homes here.
In the continuing investigation of heroin trafficking in the Jamestown area, officers of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Jamestown Police SWAT Team arrested at 539 Crescent Street Iris Blanco-Rivera, 31; Carlos Juan Gonzalez Diaz, 30 and Rolando Garcia, 50. At 842 Lafayette Street the team arrested Alexander D. Mercado, 35.
Officials said that during the Crescent Street raid “more than” three bundles of heroin and a quantity of powder cocaine and prescription pills and a large amount of cash were seized.
During the Lafayette Street raid “more than” two bundles of heroin and a quantity of cash were allegedly seized. Blanco-Rivera is being held on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
Gonzalez-Diaz is being held on criminal possession of controlled substances in the seventh degree and using drug paraphernalia.
Garcia is charged with obstructing governmental administration for allegedly struggling with SWAT officers and refusing to obey their commends.
Mercado is being held on a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree.
All four are in custody in the city jail pending court proceedings.
