A request for a spoon at a Theater District restaurant, followed by the sound of a lighter being lit repeatedly, led to the arrest of a 24-year-old woman on a drug charge, according to Buffalo police.
An employee of a Main Street eatery told Central District officers that a woman asked for a spoon late Sunday night, then went into a restroom with it. The employee went into the restroom a few minutes later and heard what sounded like a lighter being lit repeatedly, then called police.
Officers reported that when they arrived, Analyse Martin, 24, of Buffalo, threw eight bags of what she admitted was heroin into the toilet, but was stopped from flushing them. The heroin was recovered, police said, and Martin was charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
