LOCKPORT – A home care aide who was charged with having unwanted contact with a patient’s breasts in the victim’s shower accepted a plea offer Monday in State Supreme Court.
Laura J. Denne, 59, of Michigan Avenue, Niagara Falls, pleaded guilty to attempted endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, a misdemeanor. It was the same plea she rejected Dec. 19, when Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. promised a probation sentence. But there was no sentencing commitment Monday, so Denne could face up to a year in jail when she is sentenced April 28.
The complainant, a 31-year-old woman suffering from spinal muscular atrophy, reportedly was fondled while showering in her North Tonawanda home May 16.
