Brocton man arrested for felony DWI in Pomfret

MAYVILLE – A 47-year-old Brocton man was arrested on felony drunken driving and other charges when State Police found his car Friday off Ellicott Road in the Town of Pomfret.

They said James Schroeder, Jr. needed help getting out of his vehicle and was found to smell of alcohol and had a beer can in his car’s cup holder. He was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated because of two DWI convictions in the last ten years, speeding, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, refusing to agree to a breath test and driving without a court-ordered ignition interlock device. He faces further proceedings in Pomfret Town Court next week.
