Public meetings in Niagara Falls government this week

The City Council will hold a Committee of the Whole meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, beginning with a public hearing on a proposal to abandon a half-acre portion of 76th Street as part of a proposed expansion of Niagara Consumer Square by Benderson Development. A regular meeting will follow at 7 in Council Chambers in City Hall, 745 Main St. (The Council recently changed the start times of its meetings through May.) (agenda, supporting documentation)

The Financial Advisory Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Room 117 in City Hall.

The Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Room 117 in City Hall.

A public hearing on proposed tax breaks for the Hamister Group’s proposed Hyatt Place hotel will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 117 in City Hall.
