Man charged after stolen vehicle gets stuck in snowbank

A man trying to flee from Buffalo police in a stolen vehicle Friday evening got stuck in a snowbank on the East Side, Northeast District officers said.

Police were called to Edison Avenue, near East Delevan Avenue, about 6:45 p.m. for a report of a stolen vehicle. After officers located the black 2011 Ford Fusion and tried to stop it, the driver, Joshua Koch, allegedly tried to flee in reverse and got stuck in the snowbank, police said.

Koch, no age or address given, was charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.

The vehicle was not damaged, police said.
