The American Red Cross is offering a free citizen preparedness corps training session called “Prepare, Respond, Recover: What to do when disaster strikes.”
The session will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the meeting room of the Grand Island Memorial Library, 1715 Bedell Road.
The program provides a comprehensive overview of how to prepare, respond and recover from natural and man-made disasters. The program is open to the public.

• The Town Board meets at 8 p.m. Monday and one of its public hearings during the meeting will focus on a local law establishing regulations for historic preservation in the town. The board meets in the court room of Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road.
• The Grand Island Ministerium’s World Day of Prayer promotes justice and equality for women through prayer, partnership, service and celebration. This year, a service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, 2587 Baseline Road.
Mary Murphy of the Family Justice Center will be the guest speaker. A reception will follow.
