Letter: Does Giuliani even see hypocrisy of his words?

Does Giuliani even see hypocrisy of his words?

“I would go anywhere, any place anytime, and I wouldn’t give a damn what the president of the United States said, to defend my country. That’s a patriot. That’s a man who loves his people. That’s a man who fights for his people. Unlike our president.” This is a quote from Rudy Giuliani.

Let us find out where he really stands as far as defending his country. During the Vietnam War, Giuliani asked for and received a half dozen deferments. He even had a judge whom he was friendly with write a special exemption letter for him. I guess he did not want to become part of the 50,000 American men and women who became casualties defending their country.

So much for the “great patriot.” He and Dick Cheney both claim to love America. Both sought and got deferments for the Vietnam War. Neither one defended our country with any action other than hateful words.

To paraphrase Shakespeare, Giuliani “doth protest too much, methinks.”
