The Sabres have sent Mark Pysyk back to Rochester. The move gives further ammunition to those who think (A) Buffalo is tanking and (B) there's a rift between Tim Murray and Ted Nolan.
Pysyk had a goal, assist and plus-4 rating during his three-game callup this week. Buffalo summoned the defenseman Sunday after Nikita Zadovov overslept and Tyson Strachan came down with an infection. Strachan returned to practice Friday, while Zadorov skated with the regulars and got power-play time in place of Pysyk.
Nolan spoke glowingly of Pysyk, as Mike Harrington noted in Friday's paper. The coach said the 23-year-old belonged in Buffalo, not Rochester.
Murray has decided otherwise.
