A launch party will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in Ulrich’s Tavern, 674 Ellicott St., to kick off a competition that is looking for ideas on how to improve the area’s response to climate change.
The competition, entitled “Our Responsibility to Future Generations” and sponsored by Designing to Live Sustainably, is open to anyone with thoughts to contribute to the Buffalo-Niagara region’s planning for climate change.
Winners will be chosen in six categories – Public Participation, Policy and Governance; Transportation and Walkability; Agriculture and Food Justice; Sustainability in Business; Design Innovation; and Building Reuse, Retrofits and Preservation. A grand prize also will be awarded. For more information, visit www.d2lsbuffalo.com.
