Gov. Cuomo is wasting no time in attempting to get his school reform legislation passed. Today, he released a report titled, "The State of New York's Failing Schools."
In it, he outlines all the major urban districts with failing schools, including a section on Buffalo. Click on the link below to see the chart that lists all Buffalo "priority schools," the lowest academic ranking given by the State Education Department that are labeled as "failing" in the state report. We've highlighted in red all the Buffalo schools that have been listed as failing schools for 10 consecutive years -- as long as the No Child Left Behind Legislation has required a grading of district schools.
Interestingly, the report doesn't just list the priority schools and the number of years they've had the "failing" label. The chart also shows in whose State Senate and Assembly districts these schools reside.
