NIAGARA FALLS – Two contractors were victimized in separate vehicle larcenies on Tuesday. Both had been customers at a store on Builder’s Way.
The driver of a Roto Rooter truck told police that sometime between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday the rear passenger door lock was punched out, causing $200 in damage, and a $200 sawzall and rigid pro press, valued at $3,000, were stolen. He said he had parked in the lot’s nursery area.
A construction contractor, who was in Niagara Falls for work, said he was in the store from noon to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and had parked his pickup near the contractors entrance. He said someone opened the storage containers in the rear of the truck and took numerous tools, clothing and boots. Total loss is estimated at $2,865.
Both men were unsure whether the theft happened near the store or afterwards at their work sites. No video surveillance was available according to police.
