Report of vehicle in snowbank leads to DWI arrest

A report of a vehicle off the road in the Town of Newstead led to the arrest of its driver on a charge of driving while intoxicated, according to State Police.

Troopers responding to the report Sunday found a vehicle off the road and in a snowbank along Hunts Corners Road. Its driver, Paul Richards IV, 26, of Getzville, failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Clarence barracks, where a breath test indicated a blood-alcohol content of .20, police said.

Richards was issued tickets to appear March 18 in Newstead Town Court.
