East Aurora, already a destination for art lovers and gallery-hoppers, will welcome yet another art space to its vibrant visual arts scene on Friday. The Neil and Barbara Chur Family Gallery, housed in the loft of the power house on the Roycroft Campus (31 South Grove St., East Aurora), will host an opening reception at 6 p.m. Friday for a photography exhibit by Melanie Chimento.
The show, “Buffalo Underground: This is WNY!”, is a visual document of the region’s “splendor, history and natural assets. It emerged, in part, from Chimento’s creation of the “Buffalo Underground” meet-up group, an open forum in which Western New Yorkers bond over their shared love of the area’s natural and built environment.
“I am proud of my city’s past and passionate about its future,” Chimento said in a statement. “Through my photography, I capture the beauty and uniqueness of a great area.”
The inaugural exhibition will remain on view through April 3. Call 655-0261 or visit www.roycroftcampuscorp.com.
