July 8, 2011: Corasanti’s BMW strikes and kills Alexandria “Alix” Rice, 18, at 11:20 p.m. on Heim Road in Amherst
Sept. 29, 2011: Erie County grand jury indicts Corasanti on manslaughter, DWI, leaving-the-scene and evidence-tampering charges. He pleads not guilty.
Oct. 18, 2011: Rice’s parents begin wrongful-death civil suit against Corasanti.
April 26, 2012: Criminal trial begins in Erie County Court.
May 30, 2012: After 16 days of testimony, jurors acquit Corasanti on all felony charges but convict him of DWI.
Aug. 16, 2012: Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio sentences Corasanti to one year in jail, the maximum punishment for misdemeanor DWI.
April 11, 2013: Corasanti released after serving 239 days in jail.
Feb. 9, 2015: Testimony in civil trial begins in State Supreme Court.
Feb. 24, 2015: Settlement reached in civil case. Corasanti did not testify at civil trial.
