Teeing it up for Feb. 25

PGA Tour

Honda Classic on the Champion Course at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Thursday through Sunday.

TV: Thursday and Friday, 2-6 p.m., Golf Channel; Saturday and Sunday, 1-3 p.m., Golf Channel and 3-6 p.m. on NBC.

Last Year: Russell Henley two-putted from 40 feet for a birdie on the first playoff hole to turn back Rory McIlroy, Ryan Palmer and Russell Knox of Scotland. Henley, whose only other PGA Tour victory came in the 2013 Sony Open in Hawaii, was in or near the lead after opening with a 6-under-par 64, and he closed with a 72 that included a double-bogey 6 on the 15th hole. McIlroy, who took a two-stroke lead into the final round but closed with a 74, missed a 12-foot eagle putt on the 72nd hole and settled for a birdie that got him into the playoff. Palmer, the only one of the four to break par in the final round at 69, missed a 5-foot putt for par on the final hole of regulation and a 10-footer for birdie on the playoff hole. Knox finished with a 71 and missed a 20-foot birdie putt in the playoff.

Honda LPGA Thailand on the Pattaya Old Course at Siam Golf Club in Chonburi, Thailand, Thursday through Sunday.

TV: Thursday through Sunday, 1-5 a.m. Golf Channel.

Last Year: Anna Nordqvist of Sweden played the weekend in 67-68 to claim her third victory on the LPGA Tour by two strokes over Inbee Park of South Korea, who was the No. 1 player in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings at the time. Nordqvist began the final day with a four-shot lead over Park and Michelle Wie before making a double bogey-6 on the fifth hole. Wie made her second birdie of the day on the fifth hole but could not keep up the pace and closed with a 69 to wind up fourth, five strokes back. Park finished with a bogey-free 66 but never was able to get closer than two shots of Nordqvist, who righted the ship with a birdie on No. 7 and made three in a row through No. 12 to regain command.
