The state is launching its sixth annual business plan competition for college students.
The contest, which will have more than $500,000 in prizes, is seeking entrants with business plans in industries ranging from nanotechnology, advanced technology, energy and sustainability to biotechnology and healthcare. Other targeted sectors include products and services, information technology and software and social entrepreneurship and non-profit enterprise.
Applications for students in Western New York are due March 25, with semifinalists announced on April 1. The contest’s regional semifinals will be held on April 10 at Hilbert College in Hamburg, with the statewide finals scheduled for April 24 at SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Albany.
