JONES, Howard J. Jr.

JONES - Howard J. Jr. Of Clarence Center, February 20, 2015, age 82, beloved husband of Marjorie (nee Clarke) for 60 years, and father of Howard J. Jones III and Randolph C. (Karen) Jones, and grandfather of Jason, Miranda and Kelsey Jones. Howard graduated Amherst High in 1951 and fondly remembered being captain of the football team and having a lead role in operettas including "The Mikado". He received his B.A. degree from Capital University, Columbus, OH in 1955, and shortly after was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was a successful realtor at both Stovroff & Herman and Hunt Realtors, and a devoted Christian man who was actively involved in his Lutheran church families at Zion Lutheran in Clarence Center and formerly at St. Paul's Lutheran in Eggertsville. Howard had a wonderful baritone voice and loved to sing in the church choirs. He had a true enjoyment of the Buffalo area and its people as demonstrated by his return to the area after a two year stint in Florida. He loved raising his family in the country in the Akron area, and enjoyed the quiet slow pace of Clarence Center during his retirement. Friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at Zion Lutheran in Clarence Center at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 7, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Clarence Center or to the U.B. Foundation, Dept. of Anatomy & Cell Biology, SUNY Buffalo.
