POYER, Charles Michael

POYER - Charles Michael Of Appleton, NY rode through Heaven's gate on February 23, 2015 after a good fight. Born on May 8, 1954 in Buffalo, he was the son of Frank and Lucille Agne Poyer. Charlie graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1972, served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and married the love of his life the former, Lynn Nelson, on June 26, 1999 in Olcott. He worked at Harrison Radiator for 30 years retiring in 2004. In retirement he and his wife wintered in Key West, FL. and spent summers in Appleton working in the yard. Charlie lived life to the fullest. He loved his family, riding Harleys, traveling and being surrounded by his family and friends. He was always bringing an antique car home that he was going to "restore". We will never forget the many times we all were the object of his jokes. Every once in a while he loved to "Let the Badger Loose". The two things he brought to our lives were laughter and love. We will miss his smile and his laugh. Life is not going to be the same without you. We love you Charlie, you will be missed more than you know but never forgotten. Thank you for all of the love and great memories. Salute!
Surviving are his wife, Lynn A. Nelson-Poyer; three brothers, Thomas (Sandy) Poyer of FL, Frank Poyer of CA and Jeff Poyer of Buffalo; his niece, Jennifer Poyer; great nephew, Jaxson both of NV; step-daughters, Christina (Christopher) Just and Nicole Nelson both of Lockport; five grandchildren, Zachariah, Jaiden, Michael, Arissa and Sareena all who loved their Poppee very much; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Terri) Nelson of Middleport, niece, Amanda (Steve) Slish, great nephew, Matthew of FL and numerous cousins and close friends.
