A 19-year-old Heussy Avenue man was arrested Sunday night shortly after he allegedly robbed the Dollar General Store at 942 McKinley Parkway. Michael A. Catanzaro was arrested by Police Officers William Rezabek and Patrick Humiston about a block away from the robbery site less than 10 minutes after the stickup because of a 911 call.
Catanzaro allegedly pulled out what looked like a silver revolver when a store employee confronted him about 8:14 p.m.
After taking items from the shelves he allegedly ran out of the store. Police were alerted to him wearing firefighter pants, a blue hoodie, and a hat, leading to his arrest. The alleged weapon used in the stickup, described as a silver pellet gun loaded with six pellet cartridges, was recovered, according to a police report. Catanazaro is being held on charges of second-degree robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and menacing.
