WHEATFIELD – A Niagara Falls woman was charged with driving while intoxicated Friday morning after her car rolled over and struck a utility pole on Shawnee Road, sheriff’s deputies reported.
Lauren M. Lewis, 33, of Weston Avenue, was not injured in the 12:17 a.m. crash that left the utility pole in need of replacement. Deputies said they found the car upside down at the scene, and said that Lewis displayed signs of intoxication after emerging unhurt from the vehicle. She later registered a 0.16 reading on a Breathalyzer test, twice the legal limit.
Lewis was charged with DWI, failure to keep right and moving from a lane unsafely.
