ALBION – A 31-year-old Lewiston man was arrested Monday by State Police Monday on a charge of drunk driving and other charges after allegedly causing a two-car crash at Route 104 and Center Road in the Town of Murray, they reported Wednesday.
Andrew J. Reiter was eastbound on Route 104 and allegedly tailgating the car of Christos A. Tonas, 24, of Kendall. When Tonas slowed down and began to make a turn to drive north on Center Road Reister reportedly lost traction in slamming on his brakes and skidded on the snow and ice-covered roadway and struck Tonas’ vehicle.
After confirming that neither driver was injured, troopers arrested Reiter for aggravated unlicensed operating of a motor vehicle, felony driving while intoxicated being an unlicensed driver and following to close to another vehicle. He was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.13 percent, more than the state’s legal limit, and was order to appear March 5 in Murray Town Court.
