Letter: Silver owes New Yorkers an apology, a resignation

Silver owes New Yorkers an apology, a resignation

During Sheldon Silver’s long tenure in Albany, he has allegedly filled his campaign and personnel coffers with donations from special interest groups and millions of dollars in illegal bribery and kickbacks while ignoring the welfare of New York State. His performance has been despicable!

Silver will soon be out as Assembly speaker. It’s time for him to do the right thing and resign his seat entirely. He has not only disgraced himself, he has disgraced every citizen of New York. Let’s see if he can find it in himself to apologize to the voters for his gross misconduct. Once he is gone, convicted and modeling orange jump suits, perhaps the corrupt cesspool in Albany can begin a true and thorough cleansing.
