Car parts lead police to driving-while-impaired suspect

NIAGARA FALLS – A trail of car parts led police to the telephone pole struck by a suspected drunken driver early Friday.

About 5:30 a.m. Friday, police noticed a heavily damaged car parked, facing east, in the westbound lane of Niagara Street – with a tire detached from a front wheel.

Billy “Wild Bill” Rivera, 38, of Fairway Drive, Lewiston, who was charged with driving while impaired and reckless driving, said the tire had “fallen off” as he drove home from Seneca Niagara Casino, police said.
