The University at Buffalo’s quality offense gets put to the test tonight when it faces Kent State in a huge Mid-American Conference game at Alumni Arena. Tipoff is 10 p.m., and the game is on ESPNU.
UB is averaging 73.3 points a game, fourth best in the MAC. Kent State is allowing only 59.7, third best in the MAC and 35th best in the nation.
Kent State has won six straight and held the opposition to fewer than 60 points in all six. Only six of Kent’s 20 opponents have scored 61 or better while also shooting 40 percent or better from the field. UB has done that in 12 of its 19 games this year.
UB is due for some improved outside shooting after struggling behind the arc in its win over Western Michigan.
UB guard Jarryn Skeete is shooting just 23.3 percent (7 of 31) from three-point range the past four games. He was averaging 11 ppg in the first nine games. Then he sat out six games with an injury. He’s scoring 7 ppg in the six games since his return.
