LOCKPORT – A Rochester man was arrested by state police Friday on felony grand larceny charges after a month-long multi-agency probe of the theft of products on Dec. 24 from the Walmart store on South Transit Road in Lockport.
Sterling L. Ruffin, 19, was arrested after an investigation involving Genesee, Orleans and Monroe county sheriff’s deputies and Rochester police. Ruffin and another man who is still being sought are accused of stealing more than $3,000 in of electronic video game consoles and clothing from the store and driving off.
Ruffin was already in the Monroe County Jail Friday on unrelated charges when state police officers formally charged him with the Lockport thefts. He is now being held in the Niagara County Jail in Lockport in lieu of $20,000 bail pending further proceedings in Lockport Town Court.
