ALBION – A Rochester couple was being held in the Orleans County Jail here after their arrest Tuesday following a six-month investigation into a cocaine trafficking operation between the Village of Medina and Rochester, Orleans County District Attorney Joseph V. Cardone announced Wednesday.
Keith A. Toney, 36, and Lakusha McMorris, 35, were arrested during a raid on their upper flat on Mead Street by the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force, Orleans County sheriff’s deputies, Rochester police and that city’s Narcotics Enforcement Team. The district attorney said about 14 grams of alleged crack cocaine, a half pound of marijuana, drug scales, packaging and other drug paraphernalia and over $2,000 in cash were seized during the raid.
Toney was being held on $50,000 bail on nine counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and McMorris was being held on $20,000 bail on three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree. Both face further proceedings in Shelby Town Court.
