NEWFANE – The Niagara County Sheriff’s Department was called to investigate a suspected bullet hole found in the wall of the Niagara County Board of Elections storage building Wednesday.
The hole in the wall at at 1961 Transit Road was not there in November, at election time, according to employee Lisa M. Gianquinto. She said the first time anyone noticed it was on Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies confirmed that it appeared to be a bullet hole, about 4 1/2 feet off the ground. Another hole was found in the interior of the building and it was determined that the bullet remains in the wall. The only things damaged were the walls. Damage was listed at $250.
Deputies advised employees to report if any other holes are found.
