Man arrested twice in Cheektowaga sentenced to jail

The theft of a razor from a Cheektowaga discount store and a previous arrest for disorderly conduct, resulted in a 60-day jail sentence for a Buffalo man.

Richard E. Howard, 48, was charged with petit larceny and resisting arrest on Jan. 11, when he was seen stealing a razor from the Family Dollar Store on Genesee Street. Cheektowaga police said that when he was apprehended by officers on a nearby street, he tried to punch the officers.

Howard pleaded guilty last Friday before Town Justice Paul Piotrowski to attempted resisting arrest.

When he was sentenced, that case was combined with another from last Sept. 4, when Howard was charged with disorderly conduct after yelling obscenities and spitting at a pedestrian walking on Genesee Street.
