Regents exams can be rescheduled for districts affected by storm

The state Education Department is giving school districts flexibility on administering the Regents exams this week because of the winter storm blanketing eastern portions of the state.

Exams can be rescheduled because of weather, but exams must be completed by Friday. This would not affect exam scheduling in Western New York, which is being bypassed by the storm.

“This one-time change, made after consulting with our colleagues in the field, is intended to ensure the safety of all students and school employees while preserving the integrity of the state exams,” the department stated in a news release.
