Lockport burglar draws four years in prison

LOCKPORT – A Lockport man who stole a large container of coins in a burglary at a home on Grove Avenue in Lockport June 17, 2013, was sentenced Monday to four years in prison and five years’ post-release supervision.

State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. imposed the sentence on James E. Stahl, 46, of Scovell Street, who had pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree burglary.

Nine days after the Grove Avenue burglary, Stahl was sentenced to a stint in the state prison system’s secure drug treatment program for a May 2011 garage burglary on Walnut Street in Lockport. He was paroled in November 2013 and indicted in the Grove Avenue case last June.
