The Sabres’ Week Ahead

Tuesday – At Calgary Flames: Calgary has 15 players with 10 points or more. The Sabres have eight. Choosing to run-and-gun in the Saddledome would be a bad idea for Buffalo.

Thursday – At Edmonton Oilers: One of the few games that matter on the Sabres’ schedule. The loser gets an edge for 30th place (although Darcy Regier’s Coyotes are making a run).

Friday – At Vancouver Canucks: Ryan Miller once told me he’s drawn to water because of his July birthday (Cancer the Crab). The breathtaking coast in Vancouver is perfect for him.
