Jewish Fund phonathon raises $91,100

The 35th annual Super Sunday phonathon raised $91,100 for the United Jewish Fund Campaign, easily surpassing the $75,000 goal for the day, according to fund leaders.

Sunday’s total is part of an overall goal of over $2 million for the campaign sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo.

The phonathon is held each year on the Sunday preceding the Super Bowl, hence the name. This year’s fund-raisers at the Jewish Community Center on North Forest Road in Getzville included Mayor Byron W. Brown, Amherst Town Board members Mark A. Manna and Steven D. Sanders, and Assemblyman Raymond Walter as well as hundreds of community volunteers.
