LEWISTON – The Border Community Special Emergency Response Volunteer Initiative for Community Empowerment of Niagara University will offer a free emergency preparedness workshop for all Western New York Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
The free workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Niagara University. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. A complimentary lunch is provided.
All Western New York Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, ages 11 to 18, who have not attended a previous workshop are eligible to attend. The workshop includes materials to attain the patch for Girl Scouts or merit badge for Boy Scouts in emergency preparedness.

The mission of the border initiative is to provide emergency preparedness training to citizens and to encourage regional emergency readiness.
