No need for name-calling in waterfront discussion
I have followed with great interest the development of our waterfront. I find recent comments by Robert Gioia, chairman of the board of directors of the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp., most disturbing. Name-calling has no place in the public process. To refer to anyone as a “carnival barker” is disrespectful.
I am not certain if Gioia was referring to our elected officials or to our citizens, who have been participating in the public process by giving of their time and their feedback, but to act in such a condescending manner has no place in the advancement of our beloved waterfront.
Grow up, Mr. Gioia, and check your ego at the door of the Buffalo Club.
