A South Dayton woman has been charged by state police with third-degree rape and official misconduct for having inappropriate sexual relationships with inmates at the Gowanda Correctional Facility while she worked there as a cook, state police say.
Jessica Fries, 29, of South Dayton was charged after a three month-joint investigation by state police and the state Department of Corrections Inspector General’s Office.
The state police say the corrections department received an anonymous letter from an inmate, alleging Fries, a civilian cook at the Gowanda Correctional Facility at that time, was having inappropriate sexual relationships with inmates incarcerated there. State police continued the investigation, interviewing numerous inmates and parolees.
Fries was charged Jan. 13. She was released and is due in Collins Town Court.
