GIBBS, Frances (Pinkowski)

GIBBS - Frances (nee Pinkowski) Age 96, passed away peacefully in her home in Port Charlotte, Florida on January 20, 2015. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on April 27, 1918, she was the sixth of seven children born to Andrew and Mary (Zaremski) Pinkowski. Early on, Frances started collecting the stories that wove the fabric of her long and full life. She was always happy to share a story or incite laughter with one of her expertly delivered jokes. In 1939, Frances married Stanley Gibbs. After working at Kimberly-Clark and Bell Aircraft, she became a hairdresser. Later, she and Stanley were proprietors of the Walmore Inn and she also worked for the Board of Elections. For many years, she was an active member of the Niagara Falls Elks Lodge, where she was a past president of the Ladies Elks. She was an enthusiastic puzzler, a voracious reader, and she loved to cook. Frances was often the life of the party and leaves lasting memories with many people. She was a larger-than-life mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Andrea (Guy) Fincke of Gloucester, MA; son, Paul (Catherine) Gibbs of Port Charlotte, FL; sister, Paula Catanese of Niagara Falls, NY; grandchildren, Leslie Fincke of Cambridge, MA; Adrienne (Brett) Roberto of Topsfield, MA; Jennifer (Adam) Foltz of Hummelstown, PA; Jacob Gibbs of Sanborn, NY, great-grandchildren, Kai, Kole and Charlie Roberto; Liam and Samantha Foltz and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She is remembered together with her late husband, Stanley and son, Robert.
A Memorial Service will be held in Niagara Falls, NY at later date. She will join her husband and son in eternal rest in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston.
