WILSON, Elizabeth Breckon

WILSON - Elizabeth Breckon Formerly of Buffalo, NY, January 11, 2015, in Denver, CO, with her children at her side. She was born Elizabeth Ann Breckon in Buffalo on May 13, 1937 to Willard and Anna Jutze Breckon. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her children Jane E. Wilson and Chad B. Wilson, both of Denver, and stepdaughter Georgia Smith of Orleans, MA, nephews Tom (Sue) Breckon of Irving, NY and Wally (Gail) Breckon of Covington, GA and niece Amy (Tom) Flanagan of Rydal, PA. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers John "Jack" Kitta, Willard "Bill," Herbert and Eugene Breckon and sisters Jane Breckon and Arleen Breckon Hess. She graduated with a Regents diploma from South Park High School in 1954 and attended Buffalo State Teachers College. A paralegal who worked for Pueblo, CO County Legal Services for 18 years, she retired in 1999 as a Criminal Justice Planner. Betty was an energetic community activist, serving as Commissioner for Pueblo Housing Authority and was elected national NAHRO President in 2002. She was a founder of a local ACLU chapter and helped establish a women's shelter in Pueblo. She was active in the Democratic Party. Betty married Jerome L. "Jerry" Wilson in Philadelphia in 1962. They moved to Pueblo in 1966. Betty was a devoted mother, avid reader and enthusiastic traveler.
