Hamburg Board member shows poor commitment
I attended the Hamburg Town Board’s reorganizational meeting on Jan. 12. I was shocked to hear Councilwoman Cheryl Potter-Juda advise the assembled audience that attending department meetings and liaison assignments was not required of a council person. In fact, each council member is assigned various departments and committees to monitor so as to educate and inform the rest of the board as to that committee’s or department’s business.
Potter-Juda is assigned, among others, to the Planning and Zoning Boards. The minutes of these boards are posted on the town’s website. Potter-Juda’s attendance at these committee meetings is appalling: two out of 22 Planning Board meetings and one out of nine Zoning Board meetings. I am angered by her lack of commitment to the taxpayers and to her fellow board members. She should be ashamed.
