Ch. 4 meteorologist Santos to join Paul on evening newscasts Monday

Get ready for some weather changes at Channel 4 on Monday.

Channel 4 News Director Scott Levy confirmed this morning that meteorologist Todd Santos will be moving from the morning to the evening newscasts starting on Monday.

However, this doesn’t mean meteorologist Don Paul is out in the cold.

Santos, who appeared to be Paul’s eventual replacement when he arrived at Channel 4 in August, 2013, will be the solo meteorologist at 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. with anchor Nalina Shapiro. Paul had been working those newscasts.

Additionally, Santos will be joining Paul on the weather for the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.

Asked why the station needs two meteorologists on the same newscast, Levy said: “We want to put the focus on weather. In a market like Western New York, where weather is important, it also is important to showcase our experience.”

Mike Cejka will return to the mornings to replace Santos on “Wake Up!”

Andrew Baglini , who joined Channel 4 in September, will add the weekend shifts that Cejka had been doing to his previous weekend duties.
