Catherine L. “Kitty” Werder, of Kenmore, a library assistant for many years, died Jan. 13 in the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Lockport after a lengthy illness. She was 89.
Born in Buffalo, she attended St. Margaret’s School and was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy.
Mrs. Werder worked as a library assistant in the Kenmore Library in the 1960s and early 1970s, then served as a library assistant in Lindbergh Elementary School and Hoover Middle School until the mid-1990s. She was an assistant in her son’s chiropractic office on Englewood Avenue until 2009.
Her husband of 48 years, Dr. Paul K., a chiropractor, died in 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Paul K. Jr., Dr. Brian F. and Bruce J.; two daughters, M. Karen and Pamela A. French; a sister, Eileen Bisantz; two brothers, Francis Lee and Jack Lee; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 10:45 a.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1085 Englewood Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
