Have a question about State Police operations?
The agency has scheduled several “Twitter Town Halls,” hour-long online forums held Thursdays at 1 p.m., during which the public can ask a member of State Police questions on a variety of topics. The agency’s Special Operations and Response Team (SWAT) is this week’s subject.
Twitter followers can ask questions via the agency’s handle, @nyspolice, then the State Police member handling the day’s topic replies, using the follower’s handle and the hashtag#NYSPTTH.
To alert followers of the upcoming week’s Twitter Town Hall topic, State Police are posting videos and still photographs on its social media pages. Future topics include School and Community Outreach Coordinator, Jan. 29; Dive Team (SCUBA), Feb. 5; Winter Preparedness Tips, Feb. 12; and Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT), Feb. 19.
Since launching its social media pages in November 2012, the agency has more than 13,000 followers on Twitter and more than 135,000 on Facebook. You’ll find them on Twitter @nyspolice and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/nyspolice.
