Lockport man placed on probation for cocaine possession

Dustin T. Peace, 25, of Evans Street, Lockport, had admitted to a reduced charge of attempted fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He had 0.19 ounces of cocaine with him when his vehicle was pulled over Nov. 23, 2013, in Pendleton. Peace forfeited $1,192 in cash that police also found in his possession.

Peace said he became involved in opiates after injuring his back in a 2012 car crash. Sheldon refused to let him enter the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment because of the large amount of cocaine seized.
