The Buffalo Braves’ big man, Bob McAdoo, was in the midst of hot streak 40 years ago today, including a game where he scored 49 points and hit 75 percent of his shots.
It was more than a hot streak for McAdoo; it was a hot season. The man who has spent the last 20 years as an assistant coach with the Miami Heat was named the NBA MVP in 1975.
As Milt Northrup writes, even McAdoo's teammates were awestruck.
"Mac’s 75% shooting amazes even his teammates"
"They see Bob McAdoo do his thing almost every day from the middle of September on, but there are games when the Buffalo Braves center amazes even his own teammates."
