High school seniors and college students are invited to apply for $27,000 in scholarships available through the New York Water Environment Association, according to an announcement by the Syracuse-based non-profit organization of water quality management professionals.
A “major” $10,000 environmental scholarship along with another $5,000 scholarship and six $2,000 scholarships are up for grabs in 2015.
The awards are open to those pursuing careers in environmental engineering or science. Applications can be found at www.nywea.org/scholarship. The deadline for submission is Feb. 10.
“We need to encourage those entering environmental science and engineering fields because they are critical to our future and these experts remain in high demand,” said Patricia Cerro-Reehil, executive director of the association.
The association also invites those who wish to contribute to the scholarship program fund to visit the “contributors” link at the same website.
