Community Foundation seeking inquiries from non-profits

The Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo is accepting letters of intent for its 2015 grants for non-profits at www.cfgb.org.

The letters are due Feb. 2. The foundation will review the letter, and selected organizations will be invited to submit a full proposal in April. Grant recipients will be notified mid-August.

The foundation awarded more than $400,000 to Western New York organizations in 2014. Applicants must be 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations located within Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans or Wyoming counties.

The foundation seeks to support non-profit organizations with programs that improve educational achievement for low-income students; increase racial/ethnic equity; enhance and leverage significant natural resources; and strengthen the region’s as a center for architecture, arts and culture. Applicants are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and the foundation’s four community goals at the web site before applying for a grant.

The grant process was one aspect of the foundation’s annual investment in the region, which totaled $9 million in 2014.
